INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

¡Hola!

Welcome to YOUR town!

Thank you for choosing us to attend your secondary school. We have been hosting international students in our town for over 8 years. We are sure that you will learn a lot of Spanish and that it will be an unforgettable experience. You will make many friends among our neighbours, who will be pleased to show you our way of life.

Here you are some comments from former students:

Lotta. Germany

“I had a really good time in Palomares. I met a lot of cool people and I really improved my Spanish. My host family was the best and I really got to know the Spanish culture”.

Ruth. USA

“Palomares is a small and quite town great for looking about. It is also very close to Sevilla if you are looking for something bigger to explore. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, putting yourself out there is what counts”.

Natalie. Czech Republic

“Although relatively small, the town offers quite a few possibilities for your free time activities - you can attend painting classes in the local library, play in the voleyball team, go swimming in the local swimming pool, visit the gym or even a boxing club. The municipality often organizes various activities in which you can participate for a unique experience. The people truly value your effort to learn their language and get to know their culture better and are more than willing to help. Overall, the atmosphere in Palomares is very pleasant and obviously more cordial or even family-like compared to the larger cities.”

Anna Lina. Germany

“It is a beautiful town with amazing people. What i love most about it is how friendly, caring and open-minded the citizens are. It really makes you feel welcomed and at home. Palomares is not a big town but it has everything you need and is very family oriented, which i like. People here are always happy to talk to you and very welcoming, you should really explore Palomares and not drive to the surrounding towns for everything. It is worth it.”

Student’s tips:

  • Just be yourself and sometimes you must get out of your comfort zone to have a good time. Just be open to new things and people and you won’t regret it.
  • Check the bus schedules on google maps and not on the schedules hanging at the bus stop. They are hardly ever true and really confusing, google maps is your best friend when it comes to buses here.
  • The considerably larger city of Mairena is located about 15 minutes far away taking the bus. You can also take the metro from here to directly Sevilla. And speaking of Sevilla, whenever buying tickets for sightseeing etc., do it online in advance.
